Established in May of 2023, the READDI-AC Mentored Projects provide support to young investigators and researchers who are new to the field of antiviral drug discovery. This program aims to create valuable opportunities for their professional growth and development while enhancing the overall strength and impact of antiviral drug discovery research.
READDI-AC’s selected Mentored Projects add capacity for computational hit discovery for alphaviruses through a project led by Dr. Denis Machado at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, mentored by Dr. Dan Janies. Additionally, they expand the Center’s target portfolio by introducing screening efforts to identify inhibitors of the coronavirus nsp15 exonuclease in a Project led by Dr. Inna Krieger at Texas A&M, mentored by Dr. Jim Sacchettini.
