Led by Dr. Cheryl Arrowsmith at the University of Toronto, Core B (Discovery) is the discovery engine of READDI-AC. The Core focuses on identifying new chemical matter (hits) and novel target sites using computational methods and a variety of screening approaches, including high throughput, fragment-based and DNA-encoded library screens.
The Discovery Core B is a collaborative team with three sites: (1) the Structural Genomics Consortium at Toronto (SGC-Toronto) led by Cheryl Arrowsmith, (2) the Center for Integrative Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery (CICBDD) led by Ken Pearce, and (3) Diamond Light Source in the UK, led by Frank von Delft.
Together, this team has world leading expertise in hit discovery and validation and works closely with the Enzymology Core C and Medicinal Chemistry Core D to optimize promising initial compounds into chemical leads ready for preclinical development.
